Tarangire National Park & Ngorongoro Crater Overnight Trip

2 days

Easy

Experience a two-day safari through Tarangire’s elephant-filled plains and the Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll enjoy a full-day game drive amid lions, elephants, hippos, and stunning scenery.

Embark on an unforgettable journey through two of Tanzania’s most spectacular wildlife destinations — Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater.

Your adventure begins with a scenic game drive through Tarangire National Park, a place of endless horizons and iconic baobab trees that tower over herds of grazing animals. Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds and powerful lion prides, but you’ll also spot zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and a vibrant array of birdlife. The park’s beauty lies in its tranquility — wide open landscapes and the rhythm of the wild all around you.

As the sun begins to set, you’ll head to your lodge or campsite for the night — either inside Tarangire or in Karatu, a charming town nestled between Ngorongoro and Lake Eyasi. Enjoy a warm meal and a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of nature.

The next morning, after breakfast, your journey continues to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders. Descend 600 meters into the vast, ancient caldera — a natural sanctuary that shelters an incredible diversity of wildlife. Spend the day on a full-day game drive, watching elephants, hippos, lions, zebras, and perhaps even the rare black rhino against the backdrop of the crater’s lush grasslands and shimmering lakes.

By late afternoon, as the golden light softens over the crater rim, you’ll begin your journey back to Arusha, filled with unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s landscapes, wildlife, and raw natural beauty.
