Kibo Hotel

Kibo Hotel is a historic and charming lodge located in the lush village of Marangu, just 30 minutes from Moshi Town and along one of the classic routes to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Marangu is also where we host our immersive Chagga Village Tour, making the hotel an ideal base for both cultural exploration and mountain adventures. For generations, Kibo Hotel has welcomed Kilimanjaro climbers, and it famously hosted former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his family during their visit to Tanzania after his presidency.



With its warm, rustic character, the hotel evokes a timeless atmosphere that feels like stepping back into an earlier era of travel.
